The most interesting aspect of this itinerary is the breath-taking views we have every time the wood and the Mediterranean scrub that shade most of the path open up. The view sweeps from the Isle of Elba over the whole Gulf of Follonica as far as Piombino. Along the path we can see the vegetation that is characteristic of the rocky coast, but the protagonist is the holm-oak. Near Cala Violina, considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, we find the wild Olive tree.

This attractive itinerary, starting from the village of Pitigliano and winding along a track through Etruscan "vie cave" and hilly sections, brings us to the centre of Sovana.

An amazing route that offers the best that is available in the tuff area. Deep "vie cave" (canyons between tuff walls) that lead us right under mount Sorano, thick woods full of fauna and, finally, a visit to the largest rock settlement in central Italy, on Vitozza Rock. From here we can go on to finish our short itinerary in the village of San Quirico.

In the blissful surroundings that this island offers, with views of the beaches and islands of the Archipelago, we will wander among the remains of the ancient granite quarries used first by the Romans and then, during the late Middle Ages, by the inhabitants of Pisa. Starting from the village of San Piero, which, not surprisingly, has many granite decorations, we will take you along a route that is a perfect combination of the harshness of the mountains, the beauty of the sea and the glorious granite tradition.
